Cut Perfect Holes For Electrical Boxes, Lights, Speakers, And More In Seconds Without Mistakes Or Repairs
CUTzOUT Installation Templates are electrical box hole cutting templates that guide spiral saws and rotary tools to cut perfectly sized and shaped holes for:
- New & Old Work Plastic Electrical Boxes
- New & Old Work Steel Switch Boxes
- Low-Voltage Boxes, Mounting Brackets, & Cut-In Rings
- New Installation & Remodeling Recessed Lights
- In-Ceiling & In-Wall Speakers
They work by precisely guiding the saw for you while cutting. They set the exact path you move the saw along in order to cut the hole. Because they precisely guide and exactly set where the saw cuts they guarantee that your holes are the perfect shape and size every time.
With them you can be certain that what goes in the hole will always fit perfectly, install with ease, and cover with standard sized plates.
They also make cutting holes fast because they allow you to move the saw as fast as it is able to cut the material you’re making the hole in.
And they make it easy for you to produce the same hole over and over again with each hole consistently having the right shape and size every time. To do this they are built tough and made to last. They are constructed of practically unbreakable 1/4″ thick solid ABS plastic and are ready for years of daily use.
Not only do they prevent cutting mistakes they also prevent having to make repairs as they protect finished surfaces from being damaged while cutting holes. With them you can easily and safely cut holes against finished surfaces – like painted and textured walls, popcorn textured ceilings, paneling, cabinets, ceiling tiles, ceramic tiles, and more – without damaging the finish and having to make repairs. They shield and protect the area surrounding the hole and prevent the saw from rubbing against the finish so that it doesn’t get scratched or scuffed.
They also make the entire process of cutting holes very simple. All you need is a single mark to correctly position them for cutting. No more tracing an outline onto to material to cut a hole!
And so you never cut another crooked hole they have built-in bubble levels for precise alignment to guarantee your holes are always straight! Some of the templates even have two bubble levels so you can precisely align them to cut both vertical and horizontal holes.
They can be used to cut holes in all kinds of materials, including; Drywall, Paneling, Wood, Plywood, OSB, SIPs, Ceiling Tiles, Ceramic Tiles, and more.

In order for the templates to guide the saw while cutting holes they are made to work with our SAWzBASE Attachments. These attachments work like a router base for spiral saws and rotary tools. They attach onto the depth gauge or guide foot that comes with spiral saws and most rotary tools. The attachments prevent the saw blade from coming into contact with the templates while cutting. They also keep the saw correctly oriented to cut squarely into the material so the edges of your holes are always straight. And they make the saw totally stable and easy to control.
There are two kinds of SAWzBASE Attachments available:
With the original SAWzBASE 1 Attachment you can use all the templates with all of the 36 different spiral saws and rotary tools listed below.
With the NEW SAWzBASE 2 Attachment you can use all the templates with ROTOZIP ROTOSAW+, RZ1500, and RZ2000 models of spiral saws!
Many of the template for electrical boxes and low-voltage fixtures are available both with and without handles. The advantages of each type are explained on their pages.
The templates and attachments are available individually and in Template Kits with your choice of one or more attachments. All of the template kits with two or more templates are specially priced to help you get more done.
